August was an exciting month at Lensmen with a mix of projects.

Photography

Pope Francis arrived in Croke Park to a welcome from more than 80,000 people on Saturday 26th of August as he travelled through the crowd in a car accompanied by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and his security detail. Lensmen photographers were there to shoot this historical event, the second time the Pope visited Ireland.

Time-Lapse + Video Project

It was great to film the arts as we filmed Iarnród Éireann’s latest piano instalment in Waterford Train Station, to coincide with Waterford Walls. Artist Shane O’ Driscoll did a fantastic job creating this unique piece that will be left in the train station for all to use.

Construction Time-Lapse

Another great project to be part of was filming The New Visual Control Tower at Dublin Airport. We created a Time-Lapse of the 105m lift of the first-floor level control cab. It makes for an intriguing watch!

Against Nature

In “Against Nature”, Owen Murphy and Rowan Minjon talk about their form of escapism through surfing.  Owen and Rowan are captivated by surfing. “I’ve tried living without it and always come back”.  Not only a hobby, but surfing is also a form of meditation for these two men. This short documentary shows that having a hobby, a place to escape, and time for yourself genuinely benefits your body and mind to push yourself and never give in. “You’re never against the wave; you’re against yourself.”
