O’Connell Street is the main thoroughfare of Dublin City and where all major events circulate. The 1916 Rising began at the GPO, the Patrick’s Day parades took over the street, and every protest tried to occupy the road (and many succeeded). It is a significant part of Irish culture and society.
Lensmen’s O’Connell Street time-lapse videos show how vital the street is to the capital, and how all parts of Dublin’s and Ireland’s society meet and mingle on this broad thoroughfare.
