Aerial Photography and Video
Drones or unmanned area vehicles (UAV) are small machines that fly in the air, capturing photography and video. The drone’s controller, the pilot, operates the drone in a designated operating zone. We also bring a spotter who helps keep an eye on the drone. Professional drone pilots must hold a drone licence and be granted permission from the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) to fly. Lensmen drones produce excellent aerial views, as our cameras shoot in 4K. Aerial Photography and video are quickly becoming one of the latest trends in modern videos as they can be used for several purposes.
Aerial Services
Drones are used for various projects and are useful for multiple sectors. Many aerial videos are useful for marketing purposes. They can give an outdoor event a new look or show the magnificent views of a tourist area. Drones pick up a lot of information quickly, which can help with risk assessments, building surveys, real-estate aerial views and roof surveys, waste management and monumental surveys. Also, the UAV gives images from the air viewed from the ground as real-time footage.
Drone Uses
Drones are a fantastic way of getting sky-high views without the costs or necessities of helicopters, cherry pickers, cranes etc. They can give a full perspective of an area in a simple video.
Depending on your project, Lensmen can combine photography, film, aerial video services, and time-lapse to create animated videos that can be used for multiple services.
The T&C’s
Lensmen comply with and meet all required H&S Regulations. All our staff hold safe passes and are responsible for ensuring H&S standards are applied by all our teams to ensure the safety of all those on-site during a project. All Lensmen pilots hold drone licences and are fully covered with €6.5 million in public liability insurance.
If the job was to go ahead:
- We will need you to send us a letter stating you are booking us to do the flight and also the Google Maps or GPS Coordinates for the site
- We will send a full flight plan and apply for a licence, and is normally issued in about two to three days
- We can’t guarantee this until we hear back from them.
Permission and cooperation are sought from the client or subcontractor for internal filming before a drone is launched. After discussion with a client project manager or owner, timing, camera angles, and framing of the video or photographic shoot can be set in motion, and the assignment can take off!
